Process

When meeting a new client, I will spend time  getting to know you, your situation and your strengths. I will want to know whether you'd like to integrate your faith background into our sessions - as I can work from a Christian framework. Most importantly, I will want to know what you would like to accomplish from our work together.

Together, we will identify  your specific goals and then use strategies to effectively address the issues for which you sought therapy.

  1. When you call or email me to schedule an appointment, as we discuss your needs, please check to make sure you feel comfortable with me. I will explain my business practices and fees with you, get an idea of what you are seeking in therapy, and discuss the process of therapy in general.
  2. Once you decide that you would like to schedule an appointment, I will gather some basic information from you.
  3. I will then send you a few forms to be completed  before our first appointment
  4. .When we have our first appointment check to make sure we ‘click.’ It should feel comfortable and natural with the right therapist.
  5. The length of therapy depends on the complexity of your issues and your commitment to the process. We may decide one or two sessions is enough; or we may decide that weekly therapy for a longer period is necessary. Usually we will both know when it’s time to stop, but you are in complete control and can stop at any time.
